Near-shore waters heavily mined and strewn with obstacles. Hitler's most lethal force on the Norman coast defending the Draw, dug in and heavily armed. A landing force with zero cover on the beach but many heroes crossing the sand.
More casualties than any other landing beach. By a factor of four.
25 kilometers. Two runs along the coast, on the high bluff above the beach, through forests and towns. One ocean swim along the shore where the primary landing force first touched France. Four educational walks to steep you in the depths of the history here.
Get yourself to Pointe du Hoc for the start. Leave your car there. Hand us bags with your swim gear, run gear, and clothes suitable for the American Cemetery. We'll get those clothes to you, give you a changing tent, and get you food at the stage transitions. And we'll bus you back to Pointe du Hoc at day's end.
