Added to the invasion plan to get the Allies a deep-water port at Cherbourg. Beyond the Atlantikwall, deliberately flooded lands making every inch of progress unforgiving. 25 kilometers. Two swims along the shoreline of the landing, and three flat but challenging run stages through the country roads, forests and towns in the upland that were slowly liberated by the landing forces. Four educational walks to steep you in the depths of the history here.
Get yourself to Utah Beach Museum, central to the landing beaches, for the start. Leave your car there. Hand us bags with your swim gear, run gear. We'll get those clothes to you, give you a changing tent, and get you food at the stage transitions. You'll finish back at the start at day's end.
